7. Review of the Removal of the Pedestrian Refuge, Smithfield Road, Shrewsbury
To consider the request for scrutiny from Councillor Mansel Williams: Councillor Mansel Williams requests scrutiny to look at the issues surrounding the proposed removal of the pedestrian refuge on Smithfield Road in Shrewsbury. Councillor Williams requests that scrutiny seek information from Officers and give proper consideration to the wider traffic issues which cause the congestion in this area in the first place, and which, he believes, would not be solved by removing a pedestrian and cyclist safety crossing/refuge.
