What is BeActive?
The membership card is for Shropshire leisure facilities.
Who can apply?
Every individual, club, or organisation can apply for the scheme.
Where is my personal information kept, and is it safe?
All information provided will be treated in confidence in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and we'll hold it for the legally required period.. No information will be given out to third parties.
Your information will be kept in two formats:
- The first is the written application form, which will be kept secure on site for the legally required period
- The second is the electronic membership record. This will be stored on electronic databases, and will comply with the Data Protection Act in how the information is used, retrieved and stored
Will I get lots of junk mail?
No, but when applying for your card, you can opt in to receive information about activities or events.
What if I lose my card?
You can get a replacement BeActive card from any participating sports or leisure centre at a cost of £1.
What if I forget my card?
If you forget to bring your card with you, you'll be charged the non-member rate for your chosen activity.
How far in advance can I book?
BeActive members can book up to seven days in advance of their chosen activity. Non-members can only book up to three days in advance.
How much notice do I need to give to cancel my booking?
Casual bookings require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation to avoid full payment being levied. Cancellations made within 48 hours will not be charged if re-booked. Bookings made within 48 hours of the time of attendance and subsequently cancelled won't incur a charge. Block and club bookings require 30 days written notice of cancellation or amendment to avoid full payment being levied.
How long will my membership last, and how do I renew the BeActive card?
Your membership card lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase. You keep your existing card (so don’t throw it away). Take it to the site you purchased the card from, or your nearest centre, for renewal.
