Members are reminded that they must not participate in the discussion or voting on any matter in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest and should leave the room prior to the commencement of the debate.
5. Can we find a Walking Champion in Shropshire?
Mr Dickson Bailey will be in attendance and will address the meeting on the various facets of walking in Shropshire, and demonstrate the need to ensure they all reflect what a great place Shropshire is to go walking.
6. Problems with the perceived reporting structure for walking and tourism matters
7. Plan of Engagement between Natural England, Defra and the Local Access Forums
Natural England is developing a more focussed and strategic relationship with Local Access Forums and are particularly keen to continue to facilitate and enable a sharing within the LAF family of ideas, suggestions and current best practice. They have already published the outputs from the February 2013 National Conference, using the workshop sessions as a starting point for new ‘huddle’ discussions which they hope will generate ideas for ‘best practice’. An Engagement Plan, which restates the roles and relationships of Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Natural England and the Local Access Forums is attached marked ‘7’.
