
The Tree Service, along with the Landscape & Biodiversity Service, comprise Shropshire Council’s Natural Environment Team. We are based at The Shirehall in Shrewsbury and fulfil a comprehensive range of council tree-related duties and responsibilities across the county.

Tree & woodland amenity protection officers provide advice regarding planning applications, and deal with matters relating to tree and hedgerow protection. There are currently three officers, nominally covering geographic areas as follows:
- North Shropshire and east central area: Andrea King
- Oswestry and west central area: Stephen Shields
- South Shropshire area: Dougald Purce
Arboricultural officers undertake tree safety surveys according to council policy, and can respond to enquiries on behalf of a variety of internal stakeholders and clients. There are currently four officers who carry out their duties across the county:

- John Blessington
- Craig Watkins
- David Woodhouse
Arboricultural technicians provide administrative support on behalf of the Tree Service and the whole Natural Environment Team. There are currently two technicians, each of whom provides specialist support to the tree & woodland amenity protection officers and arboricultural officers:
- Planning & tree protection: Julie Davies
- Highways & tree safety: Zoe Hinton
