The Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) 2010 is a nationally recognised measure of deprivation at the small area (Super Output Area - SOA) level. It measures deprivation in its broadest sense by assessing indicators relating to income, employment, health and disability, education, skills and training, barriers to housing and services, crime and the living environment. The IMD 2010 updates the IMD 2007, for the most part retaining the same methodology, domains and indicators.
Results

Summary report
The Department of Public Health, Shropshire Primary Care Trust and Shropshire Council's Intelligence and Research Team have compiled a summary report comparing the 2010 and 2007 IMD results which can be viewed by following the link under the related links section on this page.
The 2007 summary report 'The Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 in Shropshire County' which analyses the results at county, district and SOA level, as well as comparing the 2007 IMD with the 2004 IMD is also available.
