If you are dissatisfied with the way Shropshire Council has handled a request for information, you should initially make a complaint through our usual complaints procedure. Please follow the link on this page to find out how to do this.
If you are dissatisfied with the information provided in response to your request, you may ask for an internal review. Please contact: The Information Governance Team, Audit Services, Shropshire Council, Shirehall, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ND (email information.request@shropshire.gov.uk) if you wish to request a review.
During an internal review a member of staff not involved with the initial response to your request will have a look at your request again and see if we have dealt with it in the best way. This review will be completed within 20 working days.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner's Office for a decision. You will need to put your complaint in writing enclosing the following information:
- A covering letter giving them details of your complaint
- Details of your initial request
- A copy of Shropshire Council's initial response (known as the Refusal Notice)
- A copy of the complaint you made to Shropshire Council's internal review
- A copy of Shropshire Council's response
- Any other information you think is relevant
- Your contact details
Send your complaint to the address below within two months of Shropshire Council's final response.
