Notice is given that Shropshire Council has received from Adderley Parish Council an application under Regulation 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations to designate the area comprising the civil parishes of Adderley, Moreton Say and Norton in Hales as a 'neighbourhood area' within the meaning of section 61 G of the 1990 act (see explanatory note below). Please note that the proposed area excludes those areas of the three parishes which are already designated as a 'neighbourhood area' under the draft Market Drayton Neighbourhood Plan.

A copy of the application made by Adderley Parish Council, a map of the proposed area, and the application advert are attached to this page.

Explanatory note

Following the introduction of the Localism Act 2011, the purpose of designating a neighbourhood area is for a neighbourhood plan to then be prepared for that area. Adderley Parish Council has been identified as the ‘relevant body’ in this case, although the application relates to the three parishes of Adderley, Moreton Say and Norton in Hales. This is the earliest stage of considering a neighbourhood plan, and this application seeks now to formalise the process.

Documents

Representations on whether the proposed area should be designated as a 'neighbourhood area' may be made to Shropshire Council by 5pm Wednesday 24 October 2018 by writing to Planning Policy, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND, or by emailing planning.policy@shropshire.gov.uk
