Title of Scheme

St Julian’s Car Park, Shrewsbury – Removal of Season Tickets

Description

Shropshire Council is proposing to make an Order to end the provision for Season Tickets in the St Julian’s Friars car park in Shrewsbury.

This proposal is related to the implementation of the Council’s new parking strategy, and is in line with the Council’s corporate transport objectives, and the Shrewsbury Integrated Transport Plan’s core objective to reduce the volume of traffic flows through the historic and commercial town centre. This proposal does not impact on the availability of concessions allowing town centre residents to obtain annual permits to park in St Julian’s Friars car park.

The intention is to improve overall parking service provision, promote the efficient use and management of car parks, and be a contributing factor in reducing carbon emissions, improving air quality, minimising congestion, and improving vibrancy in the town.
