Recycling guidance for housing developers
Each home in Shropshire produces more than a tonne of waste every year and this has significant socio-economic and environmental considerations.
With over 1,200 new homes being built in Shropshire each year, our planning policies on sustainable design aim to promote environmental sustainability and high quality design. An important consideration when building a new home is to make sure that residents will be able to make full use of their waste and recycling services.
In particular this means we need to 'make space for waste' and also make provision for access for our large collection vehicles. We also want to try to 'design out' any potential nuisance that may arise when waste is not managed correctly.
As such our supplementary planning guidance document aims to provide a basic overview of our requirements. If you need more detailed advice we are happy to assist. Simply contact email@example.com
