Infection control training courses

Shropshire County Primary Care Trust and Telford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust have announced the launch of a new, exciting infection control training and educaiton programme for domicilliary and care workers across the counties.

Consisting of high impact training sessions and an engaging and educational website the programme is free to all providers of residential, nursing and domiciliary care across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

HCAI Challenge
Delegates attending the face-to-face training sessions will experience an infection control update in the form of a pub quiz called HCAI Challenge This is high energy and interactive and drives home key messages around healthcare associated with infections (HCAI) in a memorable format - making the training friendly, fast-paced and fun.

There are 1080 free training places available for care staff. Three 2 hour sessions a day will run between:

• 14 - 16 October 2008
• 4 - 6 November 2008
• 25 - 27 November 2008
• 27 - 29 January 2009

Care Portal
This is a user-friendly website designed to give access to resources and information to build knowledge of key infection control topics. The portal will be launched on 15 September but you can still visit the pre-launch puzzle centre and test your knowledge around preventing and controlling the spread of infection.
