We currently have a number of BMX tracks and skate parks across the county.
These facilities are managed either by Shropshire Council or parish/town councils.
Following the closure of Monkmoor Skate Park earlier this year, we carried out a consultation with the local skate community on the scope, type and location of a replacement skate park which would appeal to as many skateboarders and BMXers as possible. Following on from this consultation, Shropshire Council have decided to build a new mini ramp at Shrewsbury Sports Village by the existing street plaza.
Shrewsbury Sports Village Mini Ramp Project
Shropshire Council are pleased to announce the appointment of "Concreate", a company which specialises in building concrete skate parks, to build a new skate facility at the Shrewsbury Sports Village.
The decision was made following a consultation earlier this year which sought the views of young people and skaters alike about their preferred location for a skate park and what they wanted it to look like.
Work to build the skate park, which is expected to cost around £25,000, will start in the spring and construction will take 3-5 weeks to complete.
Images of the development can be viewed at the bottom of this page.
Should you wish to see the proposed plans, please see below.
Bridgnorth Skate Park Project
Shropshire Council, Bridgnorth Council and the local policing team are currently consulting on the possibility of building a new skate park in Bridgnorth.
Following the consultation, we will arrange an open meeting to discuss the results / findings - date and venue to be confirmed as soon as possible.
