Part-night lighting is where street lights switch on at dusk and remain alight until around midnight, when they switch off. They then switch on again at around 5:30am and remain alight until dawn.
We introduced it over a three-year period, which started in April 2012, principally to reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions and manage costs.
How will I know which street lights are affected?
Take a look at the map on this page, which gives details of the street lights included. To use the map, enter your postcode in the 'search' box, and you'll see whether the lights near your house will be converted.
We only show our own lighting on the map. If the lighting outside your house isn't shown, then it'll probably be owned and maintained by your local town or parish council.
For more information, take a look at our FAQs.
