It is recommended that settings ensure that they have enough staff qualified in the following areas to meet Ofsted welfare standards.

- Food Safety - This certification needs to be renewed every three years to be valid
- Paediatric First Aid - This certification needs to be renewed every three years to be valid
- SENCo Training - Each setting must ensure they have a special educational needs coordinator
- Health & Safety/Risk Assessment - Need to ensure someone is trained to carry out and maintain risk assessments.
