Rising to the challenge

We're now taking bookings for our free six-session Rising to the challenge course for parents. Through this course parents of children with autism, or being assessed for autism (diagnosis not needed), will get to really know the condition and how they can support their child. There's a choice of daytime or evening sessions.

New course

We have a new free course called "Autism and ADHD awareness for parents" – a short introductory session for parents who may be concerned that their child has autism, autistic traits or ADHD. It will provide more information about the conditions, and signpost onto to further learning and support. It would also be suitable for wider family members who have been unable to access more in-depth training – eg grandparents, dads, adult siblings.

There's a choice of three dates – a day time or evening session in Shrewsbury or a daytime session in Ludlow. More dates and times will be advertised soon.

Our very popular full-day course “Understanding your child with autism” will also be running again soon.

Teens summer programme

We're taking bookings for our five-week summer teens programme, which runs in the summer holidays for 13 to 18 year olds with autism (two days a week – you don’t have to attend every session but there's a minimum booking number).

New support for practitioners

From the start of May we'll be offering phone consultations for practitioners supporting Shropshire families. This will provide an opportunity to speak to an autism specialist, to talk through concerns, get advice on next steps, and get signposting to services. A member of the team will be available every Wednesday (term time only) from 3pm to 5pm on 01743 250962.
