Darren is a qualified Building Control Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in the construction Industry since gaining his Degree in Building Surveying at University of Central England, Birmingham and has a wealth of knowledge across a range of projects from small domestic, heritage to large industrial and commercial and has passion for developing positive professional relationships with builders, colleagues, professionals and clients.

He has a wealth of experience, not only more recently as Building Control Surveyor but also in his previous role in Property Services within the Authority as a Building surveyor he was responsible for the design and procurement of schools and public buildings across the county so he fully appreciated the challenges facing the design and construction team in trying to meet the expectations of the client and all other constraints whilst also ensuring that the project is delivered on time, to budget and achieves compliance.

Darren also brings with him experience gained as a building control Surveyor within the private sector and has returned to Shropshire Building Control and is excited about developing further skills and knowledge and is currently working towards enhancing his professional qualifications in anticipation of the introduction of Registered Building Inspectors within the New Fire Safety Bill.

Darren lives in South Shropshire and during his spare time enjoys walking and mountain biking the Shropshire Hills as well undertaking his own home improvements (with consent of course!).
