Tier 3 advice and support
Tier 3 covers everything in tier 1 and in tier 2, but also:
- Some families may have more complex needs requiring the provision of coordinated, targeted, or enhanced services
- Support may be required through targeted early help. This may be an assessed outcome following an SGO assessment of need or an early help assessment completed by another key professional known to the family. Where targeted early help is required the family will be allocated an early help lead professional to access and review required support
- Where the support required is more complex than a targeted early help level a referral may be made for a social work assessment under section 17 of the Children Act 1989, and delivered through a 'Child in Need Plan'. Where this is the case the child will be allocated an Assessment Team social worker to co-ordinate the support
