Easter 2019 office closures

The next working day for processing certificates is Tuesday 23rd April. Any gold certificates will be ready for collection between 2pm and 3pm on the 23rd April from the Hub, Castle Gates, Shrewsbury. Gold posted certificates will be delivered on Wednesday the 24th April.

Silver and Bronze certificate orders will be dispatched 3-5 working days after the 24th April

Adopted children

The General Register Office for England and Wales holds the adopted children's register. There are also general register offices for ScotlandNorthern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Birth, marriages and deaths outside Shropshire

For births, marriages and deaths outside the county, you'll need to contact the relevant register office. To do this, visit the General Register Office website for England and Wales, and then type the town or postcode into the search facility on the site.

Commemorative certificates

Certificates are available for purchase to commemorate any special occasion, such as becoming a grandparent, reaching a particular age, marking a special anniversary, or any other occasion or achievement. The certificates, which are bespoke and personalised to the recipient, are signed by the superintendent registrar or her deputy, in full colour on high quality paper and may be laminated if required (£1 extra per certificate).
