Changes to our registration services during lockdown - 5 Jan

Following the government announcement of 04/01/2021 which put in place another national lockdown from Wednesday 06/01/2021 Shropshire Registration Service will be operating in the following way:

Births

Following the enforced closure of all library buildings to the public, birth declaration and registration appointments will be available in our Shrewsbury office on Mondays only. To make an appointment please telephone our Customer Service Centre 0345 678 9016

Marriage and Civil Partnership Notices

Following the enforced closure of all library buildings to the public, notices of marriage and civil partnership will be available in our Shrewsbury office on Fridays only, appointments will only be available to couples who are marrying within 3 months of their appointment date. To make an appointment please telephone our Customer Service Centre 0345 678 9016.

Certificate applications

Applications for certificates of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships will be processed as usual. Orders can be placed by telephoning Shropshire Council’s customer services team on 0345 678 9016

Ceremonies

At present we are awaiting publication of the government regulations relating to the new restrictions. Our position with regard to ceremonies will not be able to be determined until we have sight of the regulations. Please be assured that we will provide an update on this page as soon as we are able. We will also contact our venues and our couples who have ceremonies booked between now and the end of March as soon as we are able.
