In response to a suggestion at the March meeting, Shropshire Councillors and representatives from the Parishes will be invited to give an update of issues in their respective areas.Up to 3 minutes will be allowed for each update.

The Committee's Support Officer, Jake Berriman will report on the consultation currently being carried out on the Development Plan Document. The second major part of the Framework outlines potential allocations of land and detailed policies to manage new development.The Issues and Options document has been open to consultation since 2nd April with comments being requested by 25th June 2010. To make the process more meaningful and accessible to the public and stakeholders, a separate consultation document has been produced for each LJC area. A copy of the "Planning for a flourishing Shropshire in the Bishop's Castle, Chirbury & Worthen and Clun LJC area" is attached, marked 9.More information will be given at the meeting by Jake Berriman, including the showing of a short DVD, together with an opportunity for members of the Committee and public to ask questions.

Shropshire Councillor Nigel Hartin has asked that the Committee consider the following matter which was raised recently at a meeting of Clun and Chapel Lawn Parish Council:"Due to the difficulty in filling vacancies and concern by members of the public at the lack of contested elections for parish councillors, Clun and Chapel Lawn Parish Council are seeking the support of the LJC to ask Shropshire Council to review electoral arrangements in Shropshire with regard to the number of parish/town councillors required for each parish/town.

The Shropshire Partnership's new Consultation Portal summarises all the consultation activities that Shropshire Council and their partners are involved in. The Portal is intended for members of the public, community groups, town/parish councils and Local Joint Committees, as well as those planning to undertake activities in public sector organisations.It can be viewed at: www.shropshirepartnership.org.uk, where the link to the Consultation Portal is on the left hand menu. Current and planned consultations or completed consultations can be selected by clicking the tabs on the page. The Consultation Portal can also be accessed by clicking on the "Have Your Say" link on the homepage of Shropshire Council's website shropshire.gov.uk.Current consultations include the following:(a) Shropshire North West Relief Road- Consultations are being carried out on the proposed Shrewsbury North West Relief Road which would run from the Churncote roundabout west of Shrewsbury, where the A5 dual carriageway ends,to the roundabout on the Ellesmere Road, west of Battlefield.- The business case for the road and the results of the consultation will be reviewed by Shropshire Council in July and a decision taken as to whether to submit the business case to the Department of Transport for funding.- The deadline for consultations is 16th May 2010.(b) Draft Code of Practice for the Agricultural Use of Poultry Manure- The formulation of the Code was prompted by the recurring problem of common house fly infestations associated with the agricultural use and storage of poultry manure across the district.- The aim of the Code is to provide a consistent approach to the way in which Shropshire Council will deal with problems associated with the use of poultry manure and to set out best practice for its use.- The deadline for consultaions is 27th July 2010.
