7. Update on the Broadband project – Connecting Shropshire
In 2011 Shropshire Council made a bid to Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) for part of £530 million to provide better broadband for Shropshire households and businesses. In August 2011 Shropshire Council were awarded £8.2 million.Connecting Shropshire is a project to decide how to spend this money. Over the next few months Shropshire Council will be working with communities and businesses to create a plan describing how we will spend our funding. The vision is that by 2016 all Shropshire businesses and homes will have access to an affordable efficient and fast broadband service.Shropshire Councillor Gwilym Butler to present and provide an update on the Broadband project to be delivered throughout the County

8. Cleobury Mortimer Facebook – Community Page
Councillor Gwilym Butler will present and explain how to navigate around the Community Page of the Cleobury Mortimer Facebook site.

9. Parish Council Representation on Cleobury Patients’ Voice
To inform the meeting of the suggestion from Cleobury Patients’ Voice, the local patient participation group involved in the decision making process on health and support services, that all local Parish Councils appoint a representative to sit on the body to ensure local people have an input towards the running of the new medical centre.

10. Bridge over the River Teme
To note the situation regarding the necessary repairs to the Bridge over the Teme which links Burford and Boraston (Shropshire) with Tenbury Wells (Worcester), and receive an update from local Members.

11. Diamond Jubilee Beacons
To note that the lighting of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Beacons takes place on Monday 4th June 2012, and to consider the way forward for this Committee. Further information can be obtained via the attached link. www.diamondjubileebeacons.co.uk/Diamond_Jubilee_Beacons/HOME.html

12. Amendment to Local Joint Committee Constitution - Scheme of Delegation
To agree the decision of Shropshire Council Members, at a meeting of Full Council on the 23rd June 2011, to give delegated authority, with immediate effect, to the Community Action Officers, in consultation with the Local Joint Committee Chair (or Vice-Chair in their absence), to determine urgent and time sensitive matters. This Local Joint Committee must decide whether they wish such a role to be exercised, and, if so, whether they wish to place any local restrictions on their powers of delegation. Council report is attached for information – marked Appendix ‘12’RECOMMENDATION: that on receipt of any urgent or time sensitive matters, the Chair notifies each Member of the Committee by email and invites them to respond with their agreement or otherwise within seven days before a decision is made.
