Save our North West relief road
The road is vital to the ability to secure a suitable ring road
around Shrewsbury ensuring access to vital emergency services on
the West from the East and North of the County.
Several times accidents have occurred on the A5 to the South of
Shrewsbury blocking emergency access to the Royal Shrewsbury
Hospital from the North and East of the County.
Considering that potentially the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital will be
the main accident centre for Shropshire surely the North West
Relief road, in practise a circular road, would guarantee that
access would be maintained if another accident on the southern
section of the A5 blocked it.
The road is also vital to relieve the pressure on minor roads which
are used by excessive traffic to try to get from North/East
Shrewsbury to the West.
These minor roads are also subject to traffic fumes/pollutants
which in the long-term effect residents and potentially increase
chances of developing lung and heart problems or even
fatality.
