Fitness and leisure facilities were forced to close by the government on 20 March, meaning that members have been unable to access some of their favourite activities and sports.
We directly operate five leisure centres across the county:
- Church Stretton Sports Centre
- SpArC Leisure Centre (Bishop’s Castle)
- Much Wenlock Leisure Centre
- Idsall Sports Centre
- Roman Road Sports Centre
All five of these leisure centres are currently closed and will be until further notice while we work to make them safe and overcome some technical challenges caused by the government guidance.
Although centres remain closed, we've already put a lot of safety measures in place for when we're able to reopen.
We've signed up to the Fit Together campaign based on the government’s guidelines for reopening, which were supported by fitness trade body ukactive and approved by independent scientific advisers.
When leisure centres do reopen, they'll do so by following government and public health guidance, so you can be sure you’re returning to a safe environment.
Further information will be available once reopening dates have been confirmed.
