I'm under 18 and in transition

Can I have a direct payment as a young person?

Preparing for Adulthood sloganYes you can. You must:

  • Be between 0 and 18 years old
  • Be living (or have your main residence) in Shropshire
  • Have a social care plan, a child in need plan, a short breaks plan for disabled children or an education, health and care plan (EHCP)
  • Be willing and able to manage a direct payment if aged 16 or 17, or for parents/carers to do so on your behalf
