Shropshire Suicide Prevention Strategy 2023 - 2026

The new Shropshire Suicide Prevention Strategy for 2023 to 2026 is now available.

The Shropshire Suicide Prevention Action Group is responsible for delivery of this strategy. The action group is made up of representatives from across the public, voluntary and community, and private sector, including experts by experience who are working together on the key priorities to:

  • Improve access to the right support at the right time for anyone struggling with or impacted by suicide
  • Explore targeted offers aimed at groups where the evidence identifies higher risk of suicide
  • Enhance data, information and intelligence monitoring to best inform prevention planning
  • Ensure sustainability and continued development of the suicide bereavement and postvention offers to improve outcomes for those bereaved by suicide or unexpected death
  • Increase reach of suicide aware and intervention skills to build the confidence of professionals and communities to appropriately intervene and respond
  • Promote increased reach of accessible information, resources and tools to support concerns about suicide
