Young Addaction

If you're worried about a child or young person you care about using drugs or alcohol Young Addaction can help.

Young Addaction Shropshire is a specialist drug and alcohol service for young people. It supports young people and families in the community to make positive changes, provide one to one support, targeted support, drop-ins and group work to minimise the impact of substance misuse on the family dynamic.

The specialist services support young people to understand the effects of their substance misuse and the harm it can cause to them and the people around them. They work with the whole family where substance misuse is having a negative impact on the family. They  provide advice and guidance to young people and their families on all aspects of drug or alcohol use, and also offer children and young people a safe place to talk about things that are bothering them without getting into trouble with family, school or other people.

Young Addaction works with children and young people aged 10 to 18. It offers one to ones and a range of early intervention programmes in schools, youth clubs and other friendly settings. It supports parents/carers to access adult treatment where necessary and work closely with local adult providers to facilitate this.

There is a telephone helpline for parents who have concerns – 07870 503187. If a young person agrees to get help, referrals can be made via 01743 294700 or by email: info@shropshirerecovery.com
