Katie’s Kids Nursery. We are a wonderful nursery with a fabulous learning environment both indoors and outdoors. Our dedicated and experienced Early Years team look forward to welcoming new staff to join our expanding nursery and work with our children and families. We currently have positions in our baby room and toddler room.

Main duties

The role of the Early Years Practitioner is to ensure all children attending Katie’s Kids receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

With children the candidate:

  • Must have a passion for working with young children and be able to build authentic, positive, effective and professional relationships with children aged from 0-5 years.
  • Have an ability to support children in their learning and development through effective interactions and though and accurate assessments of the child’s learning and development.

With Parents and the wider community the applicant:

  • Must be able to build positive, effective and professional relationships with parents and communicate successfully everyday.
  • Will be able to share the children’s experiences, their learning and development with parents.
  • Will listen to parents about the child’s progress at home and use this information to further support the child effectively in their practice.

In a team and individually the candidate:

  • Will be able to communicate with colleagues effectively and to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery and to ensure all children and parents are supported.

Will be self-motivated and be able to manage the documentation that supports their key group of children.

Essential requirements

Applications are welcome from candidates who:

  • Have a passion and be enthusiastic about working with and caring for children.
  • Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years relevant qualification.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the statutory framework, EYFS and safeguarding and welfare requirements
  • Have good organisational skills and be self-motivated
  • Are able to demonstrate reliability and initiative.
  • Have a professional attitude and manner.
  • Have a flexibility to cope with the changing needs of the nursery.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team, developing positive relationships with parents, children, colleagues and outside agencies.
  • Will represent the ethos and passion of our setting for providing high quality learning experiences for our children and families.

Hours to be worked

We have several posts due to expansion and looking for staff to work 20-40 hours a week.
