These are extremely exciting times for the future of Oswestry, with several key projects now beginning to take major steps forward.
The Future Oswestry activities are overseen by the Future Oswestry Group, which is made up of Shropshire Council, Oswestry Town Council and Oswestry Business Improvement District (BID). The group are collectively working to make Oswestry a town where businesses can thrive, where families want to live, and a place where tourists want to visit and enjoy.
Work to date includes the town-wide masterplan, which is being drawn up, offering ideas and aspirations for the future of the town, while funding through the Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zone will see areas of the town centre brought back to life.
Other projects, led by Shropshire Council, are also moving forward within Oswestry such as the infrastructure works at Mile End.
