Description

Shropshire Council proposes to make some minor changes to the speed limit orders covering the A488 and Callow Lane in Minsterley.

This is an administrative matter only, and is being undertaken solely in order to take account of the length of the street lighting system along both of these roads. There will be no change to the extents of the existing speed limits, or to the speed limit signage in the area.

(SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2006 (AMENDMENT) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to make the following changes to the speed limit in Minsterley:

  1. The following length of the A488 shall become a derestricted road:

That length of the A488 Shrewsbury to Knighton Road from a point 31 metres north of its junction with Callow Crescent to a point 163 metres south of its junction with Willow Park.    

Note: the speed limit on this stretch of road will remain 20mph between the hours of 8:30am and 9:15am, and 2:45pm and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday during school term time. At all other times it will be 30mph.

  1. The following length of 30mph speed limit on Callow Lane will be revoked:

That length of Callow Lane from its junction with Callow Crescent for a distance of 27 metres in a south easterly direction.

            Note: this stretch of road will remain 30mph as it is street-lit.

These changes are being made for administrative purposes only. There will be no changes on the ground.
