These changes are being proposed in the interests of highway safety. They will improve pedestrian amenity and the regulation of traffic on Bailey Street and its adjoining roads.

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, OSWESTRY) (VEHICULAR ACCESS RESTRICTIONS) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to introduce the following vehicular access restrictions onto various roads in Oswestry:

Vehicles Prohibited every day between 10am and 4pm
Except for Access

  • Arthur Street
    From a point 14 metres west of its junction with Bailey Head in a westerly direction for a distance of 24 metres
  • New Street
    From its junction with Willow Street to a point 31 metres west of its junction with Bailey Street

Vehicles Prohibited every day between 10am and 4pm (Pedestrian Zone)

  • Bailey Street
    Its whole length
  • Bailey Head
    Its whole length
  • Arthur Street
    From its junction with Bailey Head to a point 14m west of that junction.
  • Albion Hill
    Its whole length
  • New Street
    From its junction with Bailey Street to a point 31m west of that junction

Vehicles Prohibited Monday to Saturday between 10am and 4pm
Except for Access

  • The Cross and Cross Street
    From the junction with Church Street to the junction with Leg Street

Any existing access restrictions at the above locations will be revoked.

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (VARIOUS ROADS, OSWESTRY) (AMENDMENT) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to make the following changes to the parking restrictions on various roads in Oswestry:

The restriction on both sides of the following roads will be changed to No Waiting At Any Time, No Loading between 10am and 4pm:

  • Arthur Street
    From a point 14 metres west of its junction with Bailey Head in a westerly direction for a distance of 24 metres
  • New Street
    From its junction with Willow Street to a point 31 metres west of its junction with Bailey Street

The restriction on both sides of the following roads will be changed to Pedestrian Zone - No Waiting At Any Time, No Loading between 10am and 4pm:

  • Albion Hill
    Its whole length
  • Bailey Head
    Its whole length
  • Bailey Street
    Its whole length
  • Arthur Street
    From its junction with Bailey Street to a point 14m west of that junction
  • New Street
    From its junction with Bailey Street to a point 31m west of that junction

Any existing parking restrictions at the above locations will be revoked.
