COVID-19 - changes to our licensing service

Changes to our licensing services

Due to the escalation of COVID-19 in the UK, the Licensing Team have decided to temporarily revise our procedures. All changes come into effect from Monday 23 March 2020. This guidance is for current licence holders and anyone planning to apply for a new licence.

Face to face appointments

We are not currently offering appointments.

Submitting applications

Hackney Carriages, Private Hire drivers, vehicle proprietors and operators

Please can you use the taxis@shropshire.gov.uk email address for submitting any queries, applications, additional paperwork and photographs.

You will not be required to attend the Shirehall office in order to collect vehicle plates or joint driver licences. Once granted these will be posted out to you along with the paper licences. You're encouraged to make payment via our website.

If you're applying for a hackney carriage/private hire drivers licence we'll contact you with specific instructions on providing your right to work documentation.

All other licence applications

Please can you use the licensing@shropshire.gov.uk email address for submitting any queries, applications, additional paperwork and photographs.

Your application should be signed and any necessary documentation should accompany the application. If you don't have scanned/electronic copies of documents you can provide photographs. Images of documents must be clear and legible.

You're encouraged to make payment via our website.
