Shropshire Council

Care Crew Council

CCC-banner.jpgThe Care Crew Council is a small group of young people currently being supported by social services. The aim of the group is to help make sure services and support for looked-after children actually work for those children. It provides a chance to:

  • Attend our Corporate Parenting Panel to let us know how Shropshire's service can be improved
  • Be part of the children’s interview panel when new staff are recruited

We have:

  • A charter for children that needs to be met with your help
  • Links with the Youth Parliament and Citizens Academy if you're interested

We've sent out letters to all our looked-after children explaining what we do and what’s on.

Who's in the group and what do you do?

We have a group of young people aged 8-18, and we meet on the first Monday of each month, between 4pm and 7pm. We meet at:

Louise House
Roman Road

We do a variety of activities that include:

  • Cooking
  • Crafts
  • Arts
  • Games
  • Football
  • Canoeing
  • Rock climbing
  • ...and any other suggestions the young people have

We're looking for others to join both our younger and older group. Please come along or call Jo or Kirstie for more information on: (01939) 290026

Upcoming meetings

10am-2pm, 22 February 2017. Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury. Games, prizes, lunch, quiz your local councillors on issues that matter to you. Call (01939) 290026 for more information or if you need a lift!

What else is available?

We offer training and development in interviews, and learning new skills, and have a buddy system if you'd like to talk to another person about their experiences. If you need any further advice or want to chat please contact Jo or Kirstie on 01939 290026 or email us at
