New development relies on the timely provision of infrastructure and investment. Place Plans will play a vital role in delivering this investment, and in doing so will help deliver the Council's Local Development Framework (LDF) programme, as well as wider community priorities.
Infrastructure and investment needs include essential utility services, as well as a host of other things including access to transport, schools, open space, community, heath and leisure services. The Place Plans provide the basis for negotiations with developers in providing these local infrastructure needs. The term 'developer contributions' is used to describe the resources provided by the developer to meet these needs.
There are 18 Place Plans for Shropshire, based on the County's network of market towns and their surrounding areas.
