Bank holiday service closures/changes
Monday 19 September has been announced as a bank holiday to mark the passing of HM The Queen. Those council service areas which will close for the day or have altered opening hours are as follows:
- Blue badge administration
- Abbots Wood Day Service
- Albert Road Day Service
- Aquamira Day Service
- Country parks and visitor centres
Country parks will be open, but visitor centres will remain closed. Toilets will also be available. - The Darwin Shopping Centre, Shrewsbury
Closed as all tenants have now opted to close. This means that Raven Meadows multi-storey car park will also close. - Educational Psychology Service

- Highways Maintenance
All planned highways maintenance work scheduled to take place on Monday will be put back to Tuesday. - Housing Enforcement
- Housing Options
The Housing Options team will be operating an ‘out of hours’ service, with only emergency cases being passed to the out-of-hours officer. - Joint Training
- Leisure and fitness centres
Some leisure and fitness centres will open but will be operating reduced hours. They are:- Ludlow – Open 6.30am-9.30am. Closed 9.30am – 5pm. Open as normal from 5pm.
- Cleobury Mortimer – Open as normal from 4.30pm
- Shrewsbury Sports Village, The Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre,
- Oswestry Leisure Centre and Market Drayton Swimming & Fitness Centre – open from 3pm until normal closing times.
- Libraries
All Shropshire libraries will be closed. Condolence books hosted in those buildings will reopen for the public to sign on Tuesday 20 September, the last day that these condolence books are open. There is also an online condolence book at www.royal.uk - Licensing

On Monday 19 September it will be free to park in all Shropshire Council off-street surface pay and display car parks (not including Raven Meadows multi-storey in Shrewsbury) - Parking Enforcement

Both will be closed. Ticketholders affected by the closure will be contacted directly, or they can contact the box office on 01743 281281 - Trading Standards
- Waste collection
- Waste collection dates for week commencing 19 September will move forward by a day
- The household recycling centres in Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Whitchurch, Bridgnorth and Craven Arms usually remain open on a bank holiday, and will be open on 19 September from 9am to 5pm.
