Communication is crucial
The most fundamental life skill for children is the ability to communicate. It directly impacts on their ability to learn, to develop friendships and on their life chances.

FREE Training Course for all Reception/Y1 class staff/Primary phase leaders and SENDCos, there is no limit to the number of staff who can attend.
Training will be delivered via Microsoft Teams by the Specialist Teachers in the SSLIC Team.
Training will take place on Monday 29th June, 9.30-12.30 and Wednesday 1st July, 9.30-12.30.
Other dates can be added if necessary.
This training is offered to your school as you will be receiving a child from one of the 2 language groups at the CDC or you have children who are already supported by the SSLIC team.
The training will provide;
- an overview of the development of language.
- the statutory requirements for children with additional needs.
- Communication friendly environment
- Strategies to support children in class
- Practical activities
