Under the constitution the term of office for Chair and Vice-Chair shall not be for more than two years, subject to annual re-appointment. Sula Rayska has now been chair for two years. If there is more than one nomination for the post of chair then voting shall take place by secret ballot with all members present being entitled to vote. (Members of Shropshire Council cannot be elected as either Chair or Vice-Chair).

Please ensure you sign the attendance record. Stuart Morgan, Alison Parker and Mike Owen have been appointed to serve on the Forum recently.

The only candidates eligible to stand for the position of Vice-Chair are those drawn from a different category or type of interest to that of the newly elected Chair.

An oral report by Jim Stabler to explain the planned integration of the Countryside Access Strategy into the Local Transport Plan.

An oral report by Alison Kennedy on cycling matters and the status of cycleways and multi user routes.

An oral report by Jim Stabler on the status of the upgrading of the Shropshire Way in the centre and north of the county.

A general discussion on the use of old railway lines as potential access routes. There are many studies being undertaken on the suitability of the numerous disused railway lines as access routes. The LAF is not normally consulted as part of the studies. The aim is to clarify what role the LAF should have in this area.

An oral report from Zia Robbins on the Stakeholder Working Group on Unrecorded Public Rights of Way with it’s executive summary and 32 recommendations established by Natural England to develop a consensus on dealing with the deficiencies of the definitive map processes.

Requested discussion led by Zia Robbins on budgetary pressures within the Council and their effects on rights of way.
