Discussions have been ongoing with the school and the existing committee to look at viable ways forward for the swimming pool following the reduction of funding from Shropshire Council.  An open day event to highlight the need for additional committee members was also held on 27th February.  The AGM will be held on 19th April 2016 at 7pm at Albrighton Library – all are welcome.   An update on progress should be available at the LJC meeting.

Albrighton Railway Ramp Project

Shropshire Council recently agreed to commission their independent consulting engineers, Mouchel to carry out a Risk/Safety assessment on the ramp.  The report will be shared with Albrighton Parish Council once it is available for consideration by their insurance company.  Mouchel are an independent company who provide professional advice and guidance to Shropshire Council on all bridges and structures across the County.

A Structural Engineer from Mouchel has assessed the site on the suitability of the ramp to be used as an access to the station and also to highlight any health and safety issues that may exist.  As part of this assessment discussions will also be held with Network Rail on some agreed lighting and repair issues, highlighted by the Ramp Team.

There are also some planned major works to be undertaken to replace the bridge which will be taking place this summer and it is hoped that any changes/improvements to the road layout would be done at the same time in order to limit disruption to users.
