To consider the following petition bearing 700 signatures received by Shropshire Council
Title: Shropshire's ready for 20 Statement: We the undersigned petition the council to bring forward plans to implement a county wide 20mph default speed limit in residential areas, bringing Shropshire in line with the policies of places such as Bolton & Brighton, Wigan and Westminster, and the whole of Wales. Justification: Area wide 20mph default speed limits in residential areas reduce casualties, improve the environment and encourage walking & cycling. Pound for pound, they are the most cost effective way of making improvements in road safety and accessibility for all in towns and villages.
