To receive a verbal update from Councillor Geoff Elner

The Overview and Scrutiny Officer advised members that main focus of the Joint HOSC at their meeting in May was the Joint Forward Plan and this enabled the Committee to review and gain assurance on the progress of the plan.

Since May, the JHOSC have been preparing for an additional formal meeting which the Committee requested to be called which will be reviewing the May SaTH CQC report alongside the Channel 4 dispatches programme focussed on Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, triangulated with the previous work of the committee. 

To appoint a third HOSC Member to join the JHOSC following Cllr Kate Halliday’s resignation from the committee.

Members noted the new format for the work programme which separated topics into briefings for information, briefings which may lead to further discussion at committee, and items which would be brought straight to committee.

Members noted that the work programme is iterative and can be amended by the committee as needed.

The Executive Director of Health, Wellbeing and Protection brought members’ attention to the paper on primary care access, which would include dental, that will be discussed at the Health and Wellbeing Board meeting tomorrow. It was confirmed that a link to these papers would be circulated to members after the meeting.
