The Finance and Improvement Overview and Scrutiny Committee reviews the:

• Council’s Financial Management and the delivery of the Financial Plan,
• overall Council Performance 
• effectiveness and delivery of the Council’s Improvement Plan
• effectiveness and delivery of change (transformation) at the Council
• discharge of its corporate, enabling, and strategic services.

The Committee does this by:

Assessing the effectiveness of decisions of the Cabinet in these areas of the Council’s statutory activity and relates overview and scrutiny to the achievement of the Council’s priority ambitions as described in the Corporate Plan – “A Council that is financially sustainable, with clear priorities and purpose, and a workforce that is supported to excel.”

Makes reports and recommendations as appropriate arising from this area of overview and scrutiny.
