Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee
Purpose of committee
The Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee reviews:
- Housing (including affordable and social housing and homelessness/temporary accommodation, housing register, housing allocations and HomePoint)
- Cornovii
- Shropshire Town and Rural Housing (STAR)
- Planning Policy (Housing) inc. Local Plan and Place Plans
- Planning Development Management
- Developer Contributions (Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 agreements)
The Committee does this by:
Assessing the effectiveness of decisions of the Cabinet in these areas of the Council’s statutory activity and relates overview and scrutiny to the achievement of the Council’s priority ambitions as described in the Corporate Plan – “People?live in safe, inclusive places with homes that meet their needs.”
Makes reports and recommendations as appropriate arising from this area of overview and scrutiny.
