Title of scheme |
Changes to various car parks around the county |
Description
|
Shropshire Council is proposing to make an order to facilitate a number of revisions related to the implementation and provision of its new parking strategy. It is proposed to allow the proprietor or manager of a hotel, guest house, bed and breakfast, self-catering or holiday let establishments to apply for season tickets for use by their guests in specified Shropshire Council car parks across the county. It is proposed to introduce a flat rate tariff of £1.50 for parking on Sundays, and bank and public holidays in Raven Meadows Multi-storey car park in Shrewsbury. It is proposed that Falcons Court Car Park in Much Wenlock shall be a Band 6 rather than a Band 5 car park as previously proposed. These changes are intended to: 1/ Improve the provision of concessionary parking for those visitors staying in the county 2/ Provide concessionary rates and promote dwell time for parking within the Shrewsbury river loop on Sundays, and bank and public holidays 3/ Encourage more users to park in Falcon’s Court, rather than in St Mary’s Lane car park, Much Wenlock. |
