Tier 2 covers everything in tier 1 and also:

• An SGO assessment of need may be required to explore more specific support needs impacting upon the special guardianship, eg support required in respect of the child subject to the SGO or the special guardians which impacts on their capacity to meet the needs of the child without support
• An application to the Adoption Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF). The ASGSF provides funds to local authorities to pay for essential therapeutic services for eligible SGO families where a child was looked after immediately prior to the granting of the order. If this is felt to be required, you can request an SGO assessment of need to explore. More information on ASF can be found on the First4Adoption website.
