Shropshire Wild Teams
The 'Shropshire Wild Teams' are countryside conservation volunteer teams involved in tasks such as habitat management, ground clearance, hedgelaying or stile/gate installation. They also try out other activities such as walking, basic map reading, bush craft skills and wildlife surveys. The programme uses Shropshire’s abundance of natural environments to promote physical activity and wellbeing.
The Wild Teams project is now offering four sessions (once a week) for people using Shropshire’s adult community care day centres. The project will rotate between day centres on request. Along with the Wild Teams' regular tasks other activities will be available based on preference and appropriateness for participants. These, for example, can include creative and woodland camp craft sessions. Day centre staff will also attend on the ground.
Referrals into the Wild Team sessions will be made via day centre staff.
