Due to the frequency and severity of past flood events in Much Wenlock we considered it necessary to proceed with a detailed assessment of flood risk in the catchment. Information from previous studies and new sources of data were used to ensure the most accurate result. Undertaking a detailed IUDMP has allowed us to better understand the flooding mechanisms and characteristics of the catchment.

A detailed computer model of the Much Wenlock Catchment was constructed which has allowed us to accurately map the flood risk in the area and to fully assess the benefits of a number of different flood alleviation options.
