Due to the nature of the watercourses that run through Oswestry, and using information received from the Environment Agency, we considered it necessary to proceed with a detailed assessment of flood risk. Historical information and new sources of data are being used to ensure the most accurate result. Undertaking a detailed SWMP will allow us to better understand the flooding mechanisms that can affect the town.

The study will involve a detailed computer model of the drainage systems within Oswestry. This will allow us to accurately map the flood risk in the area and to fully assess the benefits of a number of different options to reduce the risk.
