Due to the severity of past flood events in Shifnal we considered it necessary to proceed with a detailed assessment of flood risk in the catchment. Historical information and new sources of data were used to ensure the most accurate result. Undertaking a detailed SWMP has allowed us to better understand the flooding mechanisms and characteristics of the catchment.

A detailed computer model of the catchment in which Shifnal sits was constructed. This has allowed us to accurately map the flood risk in the area and to fully assess the benefits of a number of different options.
