511 bus service review - phase 1
- Period: 30 May 2014 - 13 June 2014
- Status: Closed
- Audiences: Everyone
- Topics: Transport
- Type: Public
Shropshire Council has a statutory duty to consider subsidising bus services where operators do not operate these themselves on a commercial basis.
In order to better understand the way people want and need to travel, and to ensure that such subsidised services meet these requirements in the best way, we would like to know a little more about when and why you travel. Whether you currently use a bus service or not, the information that you provide will be used to examine whether the current bus services that Shropshire Council contracts could be better designed to meet more travellers' needs.
This work will initially examine the 511 (Whitchurch to Shrewsbury, via Wem) service. Should there be opportunities to improve the 511 service in the light of the survey responses, users will be informed and consulted with in due course, before the start of any potential piloting of revised timetables on this service.

Documents
Following the initial 511 survey work, current usage, and passenger patterns of travel are being analysed further. If there are opportunities following this exercise to revise the operation of services along the Whitchurch to Shrewsbury bus corridor, whilst continuing to offer a high quality service to users, these will be consulted upon again in due course.
Take our short survey now to let us know if and how you use bus services, and if you don't, why you don't.
