Description

 

Speed reduction from 60mph to 30mph is proposed to reduce the traffic speeds throughout the village of Ash Parva, facilitating and improving safety and amenities for vehicular traffic and all road users.

Additional lengths of road in Ash Magna have been included. These are already covered by a 30mph speed limit however changes are proposed for administrative purposes to reflect the current street lighting.

(SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2007 (AMENDMENT) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to place a 30mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Ash Parva and Ash Magna:

  • That length of Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall from its junction with Ash Road to a point 103 metres north west of its junction with Ash Road.
  • That length of Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall from a point 470 metres south east of its junction with Ash Road in a generally easterly and south easterly direction to a point 170m south east of its junction with Ash Lane.
  • That length of Church Lane also known as Sunnybank, from its eastern most junction with the Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall for a distance of 70 metres in a general northerly direction.
  • That length of Church Lane from a point 290 metres north of its western most junction with the Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall for a distance of 205 metres in a generally north easterly direction.
  • The entire length of Magna Close.
  • That length of Unclassified Road, Ash Lane which runs from its junction with the Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall to a point 197 metres south west of that junction.
  • That length of Unclassified Road, Ashwood Lane loop road which runs from its junctions with the Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall and its junction with the Unclassified No Through Road in the vicinity of ’The Elms’ to a point 28m north of the line of the northernmost property boundary of Wood Farm.
  • The adopted length of the Unclassified No Through Road from its junction with Unclassified Road, Ashwood Lane loop road in an easterly direction towards ‘The Elms’.

The following lengths of roads shall be 30mph by virtue of being street-lit:

  • That length of Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall from its junction with Ash Road to a point 470 metres south east of its junction with Ash Road.
  • That length of Church Lane from its western most junction with the length of Unclassified Road which runs between Whitchurch and Calverhall in a generally north westerly direction to a point 290 metres north east of that junction.
