Title of Scheme

Bomere Heath – 30mph Speed Limit

Description

As part of the on-going development on Merrington Road North of Brook Road, Shropshire Council seeks to extend the speed limit on Merrington Road in Bomere Heath to cover the approach and accesses to this development.

Whilst consulting on this change Shropshire Council is also carrying out an administrative exercise to reconcile the speed limit order for the rest of the village and to include those roads or lengths of roads not previously in the order following earlier development within the village. Unadopted roads within the village continue not to be included in the order. Apart from the extension of the speed limit order on Merrington Road and the inclusion of Pool Meadow Close, Percy Thrower Avenue and Whitehouse Lane from its junction with The Crescent, there will be no change to the overall extent of the signed speed limit affecting Bomere Heath.

The introduction of the revised speed limit order for Bomere Heath will, through managing vehicle speeds, assist in avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road, and help with preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
