Description

It is proposed to provide a 40mph buffer zone on Higher Road to reduce vehicle speeds on the sharp bend and on the approach to Harmer Hill village. This will improve road safety for all road users.

(SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2007 (AMENDMENT) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to make the following changes to a speed limit near Harmer Hill, as follows:

Length of existing 30mph speed limit to be revoked

That length of Higher Road from a point 358 metres north west of its junction with Lower Road for a distance of 60 metres in a general north westerly direction.

Length of proposed 30mph speed limit

That length of Higher Road from a point 358 metres north west of its junction with Lower Road to a point 32 metres north west of the access to Harmer Hill Village Hall.

Lengths of proposed 40mph speed limit

That length of Higher Road from a point 32 metres north west of its junction with Harmer Hill Village Hall north westwards for a distance of 500 metres.

That length of the unclassified road leading from Higher Road towards Newton on the Hill from its junction with Higher Road for a distance of 22 metres in a northerly direction.
